The successful completion of FSK20113 requires the achievement of 14 units of competency: 8 core units plus 6 elective units.

To be eligible for subsidisation under the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee Funding Program, applicants must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
- be 15 years old or over
- not be currently enrolled in a certificate III level or higher course
- live in Queensland and have left school
- not already have a certificate III level or higher qualification
